Assignment 2 (Stepping stone)

9"Stepping stone techniques involves taking advantage of other people's initial ideas or from one’s own ideas when trying to solve a problem. Ideas that are often discarded due to reasons which either they won't work, or because they are illogical. The concept of the stepping stone method is first to record these ‘crazy’ ideas, and than turn it into ideas that is workable and feasible"~lecture notes

The 2nd stages for this assignment is that we need to use random words and image association. We randomly choose radio as the subject to generate ideas. Then just like the previous class exercises we need to generate as many as great idea from this random words and image association to find a solutions.

Leo Burnett Worldwide

"Leo Burnett Worldwide is an advertising company. It was created in 1935 by Leo Burnett.
He was born in St. Johns, Michigan, and studied journalism at the University of Michigan.
He worked as reporter and copywriter at various companies until 1930. The company was opened in the period of Great Depression. Maybe the first creative advertisement he made was the bowl of apples in the reception of the Leo Burnett’s office.Later that year Leo made a symbol for the company: hand reaching for the stars. He said: “when you reach for the stars, you may not quite get one, but you won’t come up with a handful of mud either”. 1950 is a breakpoint in the history of the Leo Burnett’s company. That year it got two big advertising projects: Kellogg’s and P&G. LB designed “Tony the Tiger” for Kellog’s Frosted Flakes. 49 years later, Tony was honoured as one of the 20th century’s top 10 icons[citation needed]. In 1997 Leo Burnett Worldwide changed brand to written words Leo Burnett, but in 2002 the “new corporate identity” returned to the hand and the stars.Today, Leo Burnett Worldwide is a part of the the french group Publicis, but still remains one of the biggest and most successful advertising
companies in the world. Among its clients are McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Walt Disney, Marlboro,
Maytag, Kellogg’s, Tampax, Nintendo, U.S. Army, Philips, Samsung, Visa, Wrigley’s, Hallmark,
etc. It has 97 offices in 84 countries."~Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Burnett_Worldwide)

~Yasmin Ahmad did working there.Yasmin Ahmad is a critically-acclaimed film director and writer from Malaysia, eventually rising to creative director at Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur. Her television commercials are well-known in Malaysia, particularly her ads for PETRONAS, the national oil and gas company.I think Yasmin is really a creative person. She always thinks outside the box.

Analogy!!

"Analogy is both the cognitive process of transferring information from a particular subject
(the analogue or source) to another particular subject (the target), and a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process. In a narrower sense, analogy is an inference or an argument from one particular to another particular, as opposed to deduction, induction, and abduction, where at least one of the premises or the conclusion is general. The word analogy can also refer to the relation between the source and the target themselves, which is often, though not necessarily, a similarity, as in the biological notion of analogy."~Wikipedia
